A Winter E-Bike Ride with Warm Drinks and Tasty Treats
“How can a winter e-bike ride be warm?” you ask. Good question! With frequent stops, warm clothing, and hot beverages we make this winter e-bike tour cozy and fun. We provide complimentary hand warmers, gloves, buffs, and heated scarves to ensure that guests are comfortable as they traverse downtown Asheville. With our electric bikes acting as your personal sleighs, we’ll guide you from one toasty and tasty experience to the next.
Our first stop will be at the historic Grove Arcade, where guests can warm up and enjoy shopping at local businesses. From there we will ride down the quiet streets of the historic Montford neighborhood, alongside some of the most historic homes in Asheville. We’ll ride along a peaceful bike path on our way to Luella’s Barbeque for a savory snack of your choice – with meat, veggie, and vegan options. Next, we start the uphill climb to the historic Grove Park Inn but rest assured our state-of-the-art e-bikes will make this ascent feel effortless. We will warm up with hot chocolate or apple cider and rest in front of the Inn’s magnificent 14-foot fireplaces before taking in the view of the Blue Ridge Mountains from the Sunset Terrace. Finally, we will journey back downtown and eat sweet treats at the French Broad Chocolate Lounge.

- All renters must wear a helmet at all times while they are riding the bike.
- The legal age to operate electric bikes is 16 years old.*
- Participants 8 years and older may ride as a passenger on an electric cargo bike. For parties with younger children, please arrange a private tour where our bikes can be set up to accommodate children ages 1 and older.
- A driver’s license is not required to operate an electric bike.
- Our suggested minimum height is 5 feet tall to operate your own e-bike. Shorter participants may accompany another tour-goer as a passenger on a cargo bike.
- The weight limit for the Pedego Boomerang is 350 lbs, and greater for our cargo bikes.
- While no experience riding an electric bike is necessary, guests must have a basic level of fitness and be able to confidently ride a standard bike. If it has been a while since you’ve been on a bike, we highly recommend you practice, even just once, before your tour.
- Your safety is our priority, and if you don’t feel comfortable riding your electric bike at the start of your tour, we’ll offer you a full refund or the option of riding along with another guest in your party in our Pedego Stretch cargo bikes.
*Cargo Bikes can accommodate 1 adult rider and 2 passengers younger than 15yrs. Guests must be 16+ to ride a Standard E-bike.

For cancellations due to inclement weather, we will issue a 100% refund or allow you to reschedule for another time that works for you. In the case of bad weather, our guide will contact you at least one hour before the start time to discuss your options.
- If there is light rain in the forecast but none at the start of the tour, we will decide together at the time of the tour whether to ride. We will provide rain ponchos and rain covers for the storage bags on the bikes to help protect your belongings.
- We will cancel tours if there are dangerous weather conditions, but we will still ride if there is a chance of inclement weather. We provide all the necessary gear to keep participants comfortable. If you do not want to ride in light rain or the cold, we encourage you to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance allows you to cancel your reservation for any reason up until the start time of your tour.

Cancel up to 48 hours in advance for a FULL refund. For all other cancellations, we ask for 48 hours notice so that we may open up the tour to other people who want to ride.

On-site parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis for $3 per day. You can pre-pay for parking when you book or pay with cash/card when you arrive. There is also a limited amount of free, street parking available near our shop. If you are staying locally, you may consider using Uber or Lyft.
